Important Dates

  • Member Shoutouts can now be submitted using this link! Send notes of congratulations, love, support, etc. to your fellow HSC members. You can submit the form as many times as needed and to as many choir members as you want. Deadline for submission is TODAY, June 06, 2026.

  • Beginning Monday, June 8, we will start collecting your sheet music. There will be bins labeled HTS, TIP, and HSC Only. Please put your music packet in the appropriate bin, and help our Music Librarians by following these instructions:

    1. Remove any sticky notes, pencils, or other materials.

    2. Put your music in the order listed on the music list / on the poster above your bin. (There were some additional pieces of music that may not be on your original sheet.)

    3. Put your music list at the front, then return your music to the appropriate bin in alphabetical order by first name.

  • Please come to rehearsal in your show attire on Wednesday, June 10.

Also that day, we will have our annual State of the Chorus business meeting, as part of our regular rehearsal. This is a requirement to maintain our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization status with the State of Texas. It will be relatively brief. Since this rehearsal is mandatory, so is your attendance at the meeting.

This is also your last chance to return your sheet music to the Music Librarians. Instructions for music return can be found in the “Time to Return Your Music!” article below.

  • This Friday, June 12 is our Dress & Tech Rehearsal at The Hobby Center. Dressing rooms open at 4:00pm. Stand-alone soloists and “Landslide” performers have a call time of 5:15pm at Zilkha Hall. The full choir has a call time of 5:30pm at Zilkha Hall. Additional details can be found in the “Rehearsal & Show Day Plan” newsletter section below.

If you own a Houston Show Choir member jacket, please bring it.

Additionally, we will be recording an all-choir version of “Happy Birthday” during the dress rehearsal on June 12. The video will be used in a to-be-revived fundraising effort named Singergram (more about that later). Let's sing the best “Happy Birthday” ever!

  • Saturday, June 13 is Show Day at The Hobby Center!!

    Dressing rooms open at 3:30pm.

The full choir call time is 4:30pm. Additional pre-show rehearsal details can be found in the “Rehearsal & Show Day Plan” newsletter section below.

Our post-show party will be at Birraporetti’s, 500 Louisiana Street (~10 minute walk from Zilkha Hall), directly after the show on June 13! We have the entire main floor reserved, so send your fans on over and join them after we move all our things out of the Hobby Center.

Beginning Monday, June 8, we will start collecting your sheet music. There will be bins labeled HTS, TIP, and HSC Only -- please put your music packet in the appropriate bin.

  2. Put your music in the order listed on the music list / on the poster above your bin. (There were some additional pieces of music that may not be on your original sheet.)

Artistic Director’s Digest

Hello all,

The show is almost here! The rehearsal plan above contains the final details for show week, so please read carefully. Monday and Wednesday rehearsals will focus on putting everything together with the band. Things may feel a little different than usual, but stay flexible, patient, and kind. Remember that everyone is working hard to make this show unforgettable.

Choir, we have a great show on our hands, and everyone deserves to see it. Stay hydrated, get plenty of sleep, and keep selling those tickets!

Thank you for the music,

Jennifer

Dream BIG with the Executive Directors!

Hey, hey, hey, Choirmates!

It's SHOW WEEK! Well, almost.

Over this weekend, please take ample time to rest, hydrate, relax, and enjoy yourselves. Be safe. As time allows and you feel compelled, run through your repertoire. Work on those troublesome areas, if you have any. Congratulate yourself. Enjoy the deliciously exciting feeling of being almost there, and ready for it.

Admittedly, you have seen and heard most of these reminders before, and we realize that the more they are said and read, the more they are digested and become second nature (kinda like rehearsing!), so here we go:

  • RUSH TICKETS go on sale Monday morning, June 8! We will be sending an email on Sunday night to our entire database and social media notices will kick in early Monday morning. These tickets are 50% off! So if you know people who have been waiting for a deal, this is it! The Rush Sale runs right up to showtime.

  • On Monday, we will need to reset the risers, so please come early to help.

  • On Wednesday, we will store the risers again until next Spring! Thanks in advance for helping with that, too.

  • Also on Wednesday (June 10), we will open rehearsal to our fans who cannot come to our show on the 13th. We will gladly accept donations in any amount, and they are not required.

  • Remember to be prepared to pay $20 for parking in the Hobby Center garage on BOTH June 12 and June 13. There is also limited street parking nearby which becomes free after 6:00 PM. If you would like to save money by carpooling, free parking is available at Resurrection. If you’d like to take advantage of this, please send an email to VAN at exec@houstonshowchoir.org with your name and the year, make, model, color, and license plate number of your vehicle, so it can be shared with Resurrection. For example: David McGurk, 2023 Toyota RAV4, black, H0T STUF (Texas).

  • If you own a Houston Show Choir member jacket, please bring it with you to dress rehearsal on Friday, June 12.

  • Remember to invite all your fans to join us at Birraporetti’s, 500 Louisiana Street, directly after the show on June 13! This will be Dutch treat on the full dinner menu, and their bar staff has created a signature cocktail just for us! We have the entire main floor reserved, so send your fans on over and join them after we move all our things out of the Hobby Center.

What a season it has been, y'all--and what a SHOW it's about to be! Thank you for being bigger and brighter than the "stars at night".

Sharing the joy,

Mark & Van
