Just a quick update today!

Please take a moment to review the Costume Guidelines using this link. If you performed with us last season, the color scheme remains the same. As a reminder, we are a family organization, so please be mindful of appropriate skirt and dress lengths.

Also, be sure to practice before our next rehearsal—it will help everything run much more smoothly.

Thank you all for your hard work!

Dream BIG with the Executive Directors!

Hello, happy Choirmates!

As you might've seen on Facebook, Alana and Van had the privilege of attending the annual Arts Partners mixer at the Hobby Center on Thursday evening.   We heard exciting updates from the Hobby president, marketing director, and others regarding the Center's ongoing relationships with patrons and performing groups and we had the opportunity to mingle with the administrators and crew who help us make our show both possible and magnificent.

Strategically, we were all seated on the stage, looking out at the 500 empty seats in Zilkha Hall as we watched presentations on the multiple screens.  We felt the excitement, the great anticipation, the butterflies that comes only from being on a stage before a live audience--an audience that for us is still building.

At this writing, we've sold 124 of the 500 available seats.  It's time to channel our excitement and keep pushing until we fill the house!

This is not about selling tickets.  It's about enrolling our families, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and other fans into this part of our lives.  It's about our creating art that we're proud of and presenting it to people who love and admire us.  It's about upholding and living our vision to share the joy of music.

To think that we have a home on that stage, arguably the jewel of the nation's second-largest theatre district, a place where the staff knows us and supports us in being our very best--well, that's a really big deal!

Please consider this grand opportunity and work it into your everyday conversations, then imagine all those people cheering us on as we sing and dance our hearts out on June 13!

We are using all our media channels to promote the show; however, there is nothing more effective than a personal invitation from you as a performer in this show! So let's get out there and tell the world about it!

  1. “Like” and share every social media post about Houston Show Choir on your own profile.

  2. Personally invite your family and friends to come see you in the show.

  3. Show off your HSC swag whenever and wherever possible. It’s a conversation starter!

  4. Practice on your own, and envision that full house at Hobby Center cheering for us on June 13.

  5. Make it easy for your fans to buy tickets by sharing the Hobby Center ticketing page with them.

Thank you for your beautiful part in this choir, for making this show a rousing success, and for furthering our vision of...

Sharing the joy,

Mark & Van

From Texas, With Love Tickets now on sale!

Abi, our Director of Marketing, has prepared this lovely official flyer to share on your social media. We encourage you to post at least once a month leading up to the show. So there isn’t an influx of posting, Abi recommends posting on the following days:

  • Baritones post on Monday/Tuesday

  • Altos post on Wednesday/Thursday

  • Sopranos post on Friday/Saturday

When you post be sure to include the LINK to buy tickets—the less work someone has to do when there is a call to action, the more likely they are to complete the action. Please reach out to Abi if you have any questions!

Pro-tip from Abi: Word of mouth and direct invites go a loooooong way. Text this to your friends and family with a heartfelt invite with a link.
