I Due, I Due, I Due (from ABBA)

Y’all have been a flurry of activity in paying your dues, thank you so much! I’ve re-sent the invoices to the 16 people I show as still outstanding. If you got an invoice, it just means that I still show you as outstanding, and you have until next Monday to pay your dues unless you are participating in the Poppin’ Popcorn Fundraiser.

If you didn’t get an invoice on Valentine’s Day but you still owe for your dues, I’m going to have to blame my own user error (remember, y’all have been that flurry of activity I talked about), and please just let me know.

It is such a joy working with you. You make my job easy, thank you!

- David, HSC Treasurer

Dream BIG with the Executive Directors!

Happy Valentine’s Day, Choirmates!

This is a day to celebrate love in all its forms, and as lovers of music and performance, our Houston Show Choir family certainly has a lot to celebrate! So as you go through your own way of celebrating love today, be sure to remember all that we share just by living our vision, mission, and core values. How appropriate that the title of our spring show is From Texas, With Love

Speaking of that, we have exciting news: Tickets for our June 13 performance at the Hobby Center are now on PRE-SALE for MEMBERS ONLY—and for one week only!

Just go to our Hobby Center ticketing page, and use the code HSCMEMBER.

Next Saturday, we will begin opening sales to larger audiences—so be sure to use this week to take advantage of the first opportunity to choose the best possible seats for your family, friends, and fans!

In other exciting news, we had a very successful first rehearsal last week, with the vast majority of members in attendance and handling all the initial details of full membership.

That said, we still have a few who need to be added to our official full-cast Facebook page, which you can find here.

We share the bulk of our interim announcements and real-time information on this Facebook page (between weekly newsletter publication), so it’s important to join in order to avoid missing anything. The easiest way to be added to the page is to send a friend request to Van English, and he will invite you to join. You can also make the same request through your section leader.

During this weekend of love, let’s also prepare for another productive and fun rehearsal on Monday night! Please remember a few things in that regard:

  1. Immediately after you enter the building, check in by scanning the QR code just inside the door. This will record your attendance, including whether you are on time or tardy.

  2. Next, pick up your nametag from the check-in table.

  3. Next, pick up your music packet from Sarah or Alicia if you have not paid your dues, and return it to them at the end of rehearsal. If you have paid your dues, then…

  4. Be seated with your section according to the seating chart posted in near the stage.

  5. Be ready to start rehearsing at 6:30pm sharp!

In other news, registration for our June trip to Universal Studios in Orlando is still open, so if you haven’t signed up already, please see the details in the article below, and come join us!

That’s all for now, Valentines, so we look forward to seeing you Monday night!

Sharing the joy,

Mark & Van
