Thoughts on Contributions
Hello HSC Fam! Thank you so much for the feedback you provided on last week's article on the shopping programs available, it prompted y'all to ask me on other ways to contribute to HSC! Okay, again, nobody asked me, but I know that y'all were thinking it!
Another way to contribute to HSC is our subscription program, where you can select any amount and frequency to contribute. When I participate in subscription programs, I might notice the debit at first, but after a while I don't because it's built into my budget. You can sign up to our subscription program at https://houstonshowchoir.org/donations.
And for those of you who work for employers who match contributions, please explore that. I am happy to provide our W9 or any other information.

It's Almost Show Time!
Hello, Fam!
It's almost November, which means we are officially entering the home stretch before the show! Alana and I are so happy with how rehearsals are going, and we appreciate all the hard work and energy everyone has been bringing to the room.
With just a little over a month until showtime, it's time to lock in, as the kids would say!
So, what does that mean for you?
It's time to take ownership of your preparation. Spend some intentional time working on the music and choreography that still need attention. Make a practice plan that works for you, and come to each rehearsal ready to build on what you've learned.
Our goal is to have riser charts completed by the end of November. Once we hit December, our focus will shift toward transitions, staging details, and running the entire show.
Attendance is especially important from this point forward. Please make every effort to be at every rehearsal. Remember, six absences means you are no longer eligible to perform in the show. Singers who have reached four absences should be especially mindful that we will be monitoring choreography and overall preparedness. While we will do our best to help you catch up, nothing can replace the experience of being in rehearsal.
We will also share notes and reminders after each rehearsal. If you have a note you'd like to share, please email both Alana and me so we can address it.

Keep the personal/ non rehearsal related talking to a minimum
NO Texting
Please no Texting or Answering your Phone during rehearsals.
Step out if there is a need to use your phone.
Timeliness
Be on time to rehearsals and coming back from rehearsal breaks

You must attend 70% of rehearsals before you risk being asked to step down from the show.
This equates to 6 total absences during this season.
If you already know of any pre-planned absences after reviewing the calendar, please notify your Section Leader ASAP so that they can take note of the future absence.
When you are going to be absent, you need to notify your Section Leader and Artistic Director.
Also note that you are marked Tardy if you join rehearsal after 6:45PM, regardless of the reason.
After your 3rd Absence you may be asked to test your knowledge of the music and/or choreography.
