The theme for this year’s holiday cabaret is “Miscast: Broadway Recast!“
Think of it as Broadway gone rogue. Roles, genders, and voice types don’t matter here. If you love it, you sing it.
Submit a video of your full song using this form by Saturday, October 18. See the graphic below for a list of important dates for the cabaret.

We need a new Director of Marketing. The appointed person would finish out the current term, ending in June of 2026. If you are at all interested in filling this role, we invite you to please review and complete the interest form located here by this Monday, October 20 at 11:59 pm.

Our annual Mattress Sale fundraiser will be held at James E Taylor High School (20700 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77450) on Saturday, November 08. For every mattress, pillow, sheet set etc. sold, the choir will get a percentage of the proceeds. You'll be able to test the mattresses at this event but you don't have to be there in-person to place an order (which means even family and friends out-of-state can participate!). Financing is available. Our contact Chris will come talk to the choir about this event during rehearsal on Monday October 13, and he can answer all your questions!

We need your help to curate a collection of items for a successful silent auction that is part of our holiday cabaret experience! Whether you'd like to assemble a themed basket (shout out to Sarah Cloots for committing to a Hello Kitty-themed and a carbs-themed basket!), donate one or more items, donate gift cards, donate an experience/service that your business provides, or you can solicit donations from other businesses and/or individuals (feel free to use the donation request letter linked here), you are APPRECIATED! If you're out of ideas, you can always donate a couple of scratch-off lottery tickets (or cash so Sunny can purchase on your behalf). Reach out to Sunny for ideas, donations, and questions!

Dream BIG with the Executive Directors!
Happy weekend, choirmates!
Can you believe we're already in the middle of October?!
Fall is the season of harvest, and for HSC the metaphor of cleaning the fields translates to cleaning our repertoire. The beauty of our harvest is its portability: Once a week for a few hours, we clean the field together; the rest of the time we can take it with us wherever we go and clean it on our own. This makes each week's group activity more efficient and more fun!
As we work, let's remember all that we have going on as a choir and consider our contributions. Sunny needs ideas and items for the Cabaret silent auction. Sunita needs leads for Playbill ad sales. We need volunteers to help at Cabaret if you aren't performing. We all need to promote our annual mattress sale, and we all need to promote ticket sales! For all of that, we thank you!
And now, here are a few more important reminders:
November 22: Holiday Cabaret at Ovations! (Optional participation.)
December 8, 10, and 12: MANDATORY Tech Week Rehearsals
December 13: SHOW DAY! Two performances, 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM @ Resurrection!
Our June 2026 trip to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida is in full swing. We are still accepting registrations, no upfront payment required. Remember that we need 40 singers on stage at Universal in order to perform on the mainstage, so please sign up! Here is the link to register:
Visit our website at: https://www.etadventures.com/
Click the green text in the top section of the screen that says: "Customer Login"
Next you will be prompted to enter your trip code which is: houston26
On the next screen you should choose the option to "Access Account" and then you will be prompted to create an account using your email address or your personal Google account.
If you have previously created an account with ETA, you may sign into your existing account to make a reservation and you will not need to create a new account.
Once you are into your account, select Add a New Trip, and then enter houston26.
You should see your trip details at that point, and then select Make a New Reservation and complete ALL fields.
We are still accepting registrations! You can pay your deposit later; however, if you know you are planning to go on this trip, please register as soon as possible. Remember: We need 40 singers in order to perform on stage at Universal!
That’s all for now, so enjoy the rest of your weekend and we will see you Monday night at 6:30!
Sharing the joy,
Mark & Van

You must attend 70% of rehearsals before you risk being asked to step down from the show.
This equates to 6 total absences during this season.
If you already know of any pre-planned absences after reviewing the calendar, please notify your Section Leader ASAP so that they can take note of the future absence.
When you are going to be absent, you need to notify your Section Leader and Artistic Director.
Also note that you are marked Tardy if you join rehearsal after 6:45PM, regardless of the reason.
After your 3rd Absence you may be asked to test your knowledge of the music and/or choreography.
