Dream BIG with the Executive Directors!
Hello, Choirmates!
One thing is for sure: Houston weather is anything but boring and frequently unpredictable, although the weather forecasters try. As we write this, a sort of mist-droplet mixture fills the air, just enough to confuse our windshield wipers and cause us to ponder whether to carry an umbrella into the store for one more case of water or paper towels. Who knows what tomorrow brings, and the next day? Ice? Snow? Blackouts and brownouts? Erring on the side of caution and putting your safety first, as you know we cancelled the January 25 dance auditions and moved all auditionees for that date to Sunday, February 1.
And because the forecast keeps moving into next week, we also cancelled the Monday, January 26 vocal auditions and are moving those auditionees to slots between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM on January 31 and February 1, right before their respective dance auditions. Those will be busy days! And fun, of course, as we all reunite to do this thing we love and to welcome some wonderful new folks into our fold.
Meanwhile, excitement continues to mount for the perks of the spring ’26 season:
A workshop with two Broadway musical-theater professionals on June 1. These are two of the same fabulous mentors we met with last summer in New York City!
The opportunity to perform in our June 13 end-of-season show at the Hobby Center—the jewel of Houston’s Theater District!
Our post-show trip to Universal Studios in Orlando! If you haven’t signed up yet, there’s still time. Please see all the information below.
And as we mentioned last week, the recording of our December concert, Home for the Holidays, is now available for your viewing pleasure! Click here and enter the phrase “HSC2025home” to access a special, limited-time viewing page (access to this page closes on Saturday, January 31). It is beautiful! If you would like your own copy as a keepsake and to share with your fans, simply make a donation in the amount of $25.00 at www.houstonshowchoir.org/donations or using the Zelle QR code below, and we will email you a link to the recording.
We look forward to seeing you at dance auditions on either January 31 or February 1 in the Resurrection Activities Building!
