Today’s performance at CityCentre Holiday on the Plaza is one of our biggest gigs of the season. It is a high-visibility performance where we help kick off the holiday spirit for the whole community.
The performance is taking place TODAY, November 29 at CityCentre Houston (800 Town and Country Blvd. Houston, TX 77024).
-
Between EOS show 1 and show 2 we will have some time in the middle to rest and recover. HSC is providing meals for anyone who would like to eat with the choir at RMCC.
This is completely optional as some folks may want to go out to eat with their families and friends after show one.
Please fill out this form to indicate whether you will or will not eat with us between the two shows.
Meal is pasta buffet! Deadline to submit the form is December 1.

We’ll be singing in the breezeway as donors drop off toys for the kids. It’s a sweet event, low-stress, festive, and we repeat songs — so nothing new to learn!
Call time: 5pm
End: 7pm

RMCC has asked for a small group of our members to perform at their event on Sunday, December 7, from 6:30–9:00 PM. They would like 2–3 songs, and we will perform two short sets. This can be done with a group of 8–10 singers. Please indicate your availability in the poll posted to our member facebook group by Wednesday, December 3.
RMCC gives us a fantastic rate on our rehearsal space. If we ever had to leave, we’d be looking at significantly higher rental costs. They’re also offering us a discount specifically because we send performers. Maintaining this relationship is incredibly important for our future. Even a small group showing up goes a long way.
Member To-Dos
This Tuesday, December 2, we have a lovely and lowkey gig at Royal Oaks Country Club singing in the breezeway while members drop off toy donations. Please fill out this form today to indicate your availability.
Another lowkey gig opportunity is coming up next Sunday, December 7 at RMCC. We will perform two short sets of 2-3 songs. Please indicate your availability in the poll posted to our member facebook group by Wednesday, December 3.
If you would like a meal provided by HSC between our EOS shows on December 13 at RMCC, please fill out this form by Monday, December 1.
Tell your choirmates how much you love and admire them with our seasonal Shout-Outs, which are due December 5th and will be presented at dress rehearsal on December 12. Here’s the link!
Every member, please use this link to submit your name and headshot as you would like it to appear in our end-of-season show Playbill. Please feel free to reach out to Leah by e-mail at communication@houstonshowchoir.org or by phone at 281-787-5400 if you have any questions. This is now past due, and only half of our members have submitted.

Artistic Director’s Digest
Hello all,
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We are moving full steam ahead into the busiest stretch of the season. Lots of gigs, and of course preparing for EOS. Here are a few important things to note:
Costume Parade
Our rehearsal this Monday will be in costume! Here is the Formal Costume Plan if you would like to review it.
Gigs
The holidays are hard for musicians. You’re trying to be a normal human spending time with your loved ones… while also being responsible for bringing joy to the entire community. It’s a lot of pressure but we keep doing it because it matters!
That being said, please take a moment to consider signing up for these upcoming gigs. Your presence makes a real difference, and we can’t do this without you.
City Centre Gig
Thank you to everyone who has already signed up! As of now, the forecast shows possible rain. If it rains, the event will be canceled. Please plan to arrive by 11am (if you’re in the first set) rain or shine. Right now, we will move forward according to plan but I will email everyone immediately if plans change.
Royal Oaks Country Club
Call time: 5pm
End: 7pm
We’ll be singing in the breezeway as donors drop off toys for the kids. It’s a sweet event, low-stress, festive, and we repeat songs — so nothing new to learn!
RMCC Gig
Call time: 6:00pm
This one came to us last minute, and I know it’s close to show week. However, RMCC gives us a fantastic rate on our rehearsal space. If we ever had to leave, we’d be looking at significantly higher rental costs. They’re also offering us a discount specifically because we send performers.
Maintaining this relationship is incredibly important for our future. So, if you are at all available, please fill out the poll on Facebook or just text me to confirm. Even a small group showing up goes a long way.
Upcoming Rehearsals
We have two rehearsals this week:
Monday:
Everyone stays the full three hours.
Goal: Run all of Act 1 onstage (minus stand alones).
When you're not onstage, you’ll be cleaning vocals and/or choreo elsewhere.
We will also run One More Sleep to give HSC-only folks a lighter Wednesday.
Wednesday:
TIP / HTS / Small Groups only
Running Act 2 onstage and cleaning anything that needs tightening.
If there is something specific you’d like to review, this is the time please communicate in writing with a section leader, choreographer, or me. I say in writing, because it’s much easier to forget a conversation that takes place verbally.
Next Week:
All rehearsals are mandatory, and each will run the full three hours as we bring everything together. I cannot wait to see your hard work shine.
Thank you for the music,
Jennifer
Dream BIG with the Executive Directors!
Hello, Choirmates!
This time last week, we were gearing up, setting up, and warming up for our cabaret at Ovations—and what a success that was! And this time this week, we’re doing all of that for our afternoon at CityCentre, for an evening at Royal Oaks Country Club, and for a special request at Resurrection!
Yep! It’s gig season, and isn’t it nice to be so in-demand, so wanted?! If you have not signed up for all of these gigs, please do, even if you can’t make it. Jennifer needs to know so she can plan the repertoire and our choreographers need to know so they can make the riser charts. Don’t consider a text message or a casual conversation your final answer. Fill out the Google form.
Also, use the downloadable, printable, sharable Home for the Holidays digital flyer (below) to promote the show! We whetted their appetites last week at Ovations and now they’re due the main course at Resurrection on December 13—so serve it up!
And now, here are some other very important items for your action and/or calendar:
Sunita is handling orders for our cast dinner between shows on December 13. This is your gift from HSC for all your hard work, so please take a moment to complete the order form when available.
“Shout, shout, let it all out!” Tell your choirmates how much you love and admire them with our seasonal Shout-Outs, which are due December 5th and will be presented at dress rehearsal on December 12. Here’s the link!
December 8, 10, and 12: MANDATORY Tech Week Rehearsals
December 13: SHOW DAY! Two performances, 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM @ Resurrection!
The day after the show, on Sunday, December 14, we will host our EOS Cast Party! The venue is The Gathering Place at Resurrection, complete with refreshments and karaoke by Joel—and the theme is Hard Candy Christmas! Wear PINK to match the décor, cuisine, and attitude, and maybe even channel Dolly Parton in some way—oh, and your invitation includes your Special Someone.
Our June 2026 trip to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida is in full swing. We are still accepting registrations, no upfront payment required. Remember that we need 40 singers on stage at Universal in order to perform on the mainstage, so please sign up! Here is the link to register:
Visit our website at: https://www.etadventures.com/
Click the green text in the top section of the screen that says: "Customer Login"
Next you will be prompted to enter your trip code which is: houston26
On the next screen you should choose the option to "Access Account" and then you will be prompted to create an account using your email address or your personal Google account.
If you have previously created an account with ETA, you may sign into your existing account to make a reservation and you will not need to create a new account.
Once you are into your account, select Add a New Trip, and then enter houston26.
You should see your trip details at that point, and then select Make a New Reservation and complete ALL fields.
We are still accepting registrations! You can pay your deposit later; however, if you know you are planning to go on this trip, please register as soon as possible. Remember: We need 40 singers in order to perform on stage at Universal!
Whew! That’s all for now, so enjoy the rest of your weekend and we will see you Monday night at 6:30!
Sharing the joy,
Mark & Van
