Jen Young is a vocalist, choir director, choral arranger and performer from Brisbane, Australia. She is a passionate musician with comprehensive training in contemporary voice and piano. She has a Bachelor of Music from Queensland University of Technology, where she also studied Education, Psychology, and Choral Conducting and Arranging. She joined Houston Show Choir in 2016.
Ms. Young has a wealth of performance and session work experience ranging from musicals, cover bands, originals bands, tribute shows, vocal groups and recording work. She uses this experience to assist Houston Show Choir to redefine their image and leading them to make important changes to keep the choirs contemporary, relevant and diverse in the Houston’s ever-changing market.
Ms. Young specializes in modern trends and pushing the musical boundaries to create special and unique musical performances. She believes strongly in the educational component of Houston Show Choir – ensuring depth, learning and support for both soloists and the full choirs.
Currently Ms. Young is a voice specialist at the British International School of Houston where she enjoys a full stable of private voice and piano students. She also teaches privately from her home.
Ms. Young’s philosophy with all teaching and direction is Educate, Encourage and Inspire.
Belinda Rossiter started as a singer with Houston Show Choir in 2005. She is a scientist by training, analytical by nature, and finds her best expression through music. Having already served several nonprofit organizations in an administrative capacity, Ms. Rossiter took the position of HSC Executive Director in 2010. Here she can combine her administrative skills with her passion for music.
