The Member Retreat for the Fall 2026 season will take place on Saturday, August 22 from 12:00-5:00pm, directly following New Member Orientation (which takes place from 11:30am-12:00pm). Let’s get to know new members and have fun all together! More details to come!

Pay your dues using the QR code in the Treasurer’s article below, or contact our Treasurer at treasurer@houstonshowchoir.org about setting up a payment plan. There is also the Poppin’ Popcorn Fundraiser in case you want to raise the funds to pay your dues. The fundraiser ends and dues are due on September 09.

(Everything I Due) I Due It For You—Bryan Adams
It is that time! Dues of $75 are due by the third rehearsal (September 9th). As you know, your dues go towards funding the program, including rehearsal space rental, music purchase, staff compensation, etc.
I am going to be on a work trip the first Monday of rehearsals, so if you could do me a solid and pay before August 24th, you will be making our first rehearsal assembly line of folks very happy since you’ll be able to zip on by Sunny’s (the Director of Fundraising who is going to be covering for me, thank you Sunny!) table.
I will be generating payment invoices very soon, so be on the lookout for an email from the Houston Show Choir. Or you could use our Zelle code (below) to make your payment of $75. There is also the Poppin' Popcorn Fundraiser in case you want to raise the funds to pay your dues.
If you need to make alternate arrangements with me, just let me know. This season is going to be great, and it's because of you!

Dream BIG with the Executive Directors!
All righty, choirmates!
Our summer hiatus is nearly over, and one week from today, we will be welcoming our new members at orientation and our seasonal retreat. And shortly thereafter, our first rehearsal of Fall '26!
Throughout this break, your Board of Directors and Artistic Team have been faithfully preparing for the season to come. Jennifer has developed an engaging repertoire; Sasha and the team of choreographers are designing the dynamic dancing for which we are known; and many intrepid individuals have said "yes" to the call to audition. We're also very excited to debut a new ensemble this season—Encore—which is vocally forward with no choreo component, and welcomes back a number of our alumni members.
Adding to the fun, we will enjoy Tea Time every Monday between 6:15-6:30pm—a purely social opportunity for Encore members to interact with HSC, HTS, and TIP over pre-rehearsal refreshments.
All in all, we are poised for another wonderful season in Houston Show Choir—and at the most wonderful time of the year!

Be on time to rehearsals and coming back from rehearsal breaks

You must attend 70% of rehearsals before you risk being asked to step down from the show.
This equates to 6 total absences during this season.
If you already know of any pre-planned absences after reviewing the calendar, please notify your Section Leader ASAP so that they can take note of the future absence.
When you are going to be absent, you need to notify your Section Leader and Artistic Director.
Also note that you are marked Tardy if you join rehearsal after 6:45PM, regardless of the reason.
After your 3rd Absence you may be asked to test your knowledge of the music and/or choreography.
