The Sharon Parker Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Sharon Lynn Parker, who performed with Houston Choral Showcase (now Houston Show Choir) for 18 years. She had a love for people and was a skilled mentor and listener who anticipated needs, especially with new members of Houston Choral Showcase. In 2011, Sharon’s family was given a Lifetime Achievement Award to honor her “tireless dedication as a gifted musician, caring leader, and devoted mentor.” The Sharon Parker Memorial Scholarship Fund was formed at that time to perpetuate her legacy and to serve the financial needs of prospective and current Houston Show Choir members.
Monies donated to the Sharon Parker Memorial Scholarship Fund will be used to pay dues, costume payments and other costs associated with membership in Houston Show Choir on behalf of prospective and current members who need financial help.
The Executive Officers of the Houston Show Choir Board of Directors will make determinations of need and distribution of funds to deserving persons. Discretion shall be used regarding the identity of the persons being helped with this Fund.
Contributions to the Sharon Parker Memorial Scholarship Fund are gratefully received at any time. Donations may be made at Houston Show Choir events, or online through the yellow button below. We, and the family of Sharon Parker, thank you.
