Please help us curate another awesome collection of silent auction items! You can create your own basket, donate an item or two, chip in some cash for lottery tickets, reach out to businesses for donations (or let us know about potential donors that we can reach out to). Please see the “Call for Donations: Cabaret Silent Auction” article below to access a donation request letter from the choir if one is required. Let Sunny or Sunita know if you reached out to a business or organization so we don't contact them twice. Thank you!!!

Artistic Director’s Digest
Hello All,
I know everyone is eagerly awaiting solo results! We are still working through the decisions, but my plan is to reach out to all Cabaret performers today. We will also reach out to anyone who is called back for the End of Season Show by Sunday morning.
Please don’t despair if you aren’t asked for a callback. A callback is not necessarily an indication of how you did. It may simply mean that we have what we need to make a decision without hearing you again.
HTS/TIP A1: We will not be rehearsing your pieces this week. Please continue practicing on your own! Once we have our final two songs learned, our goal will be to add choreography, clean, and really start putting all of the pieces together.
Thank you all for your hard work and for the time and energy you’re putting into this show. I’m so excited to share what we’re creating with our community! Thank you for the music.
Jennifer
Dream BIG with the Executive Directors!
Greetings, Choirmates, and happy October!
Although the thermometer might not seem like it, we're fully into fall and now 10 weeks away from showtime! Actually, make that just four weeks away from our FIRST public show of the season: our Heroes and Villains cabaret on October 30, Halloween Eve, at Ovations in Rice Village. This event, which has become a Houston Show Choir tradition, is always a sellout and a great way to showcase our immense talent, entertain some of our most loyal patrons, raise money, and have fun. Remember that this show also has the silent auction feature, so please donate to that if you are willing and able.
Movies and Mistletoe on December 12 is of course our main focus, and based on our current rehearsals, it's bound to be a rousing success. Let's remember to keep sharing about it with our contacts! Word of mouth, personal invitations, social-media posts are all excellent ways to help fill the house for both our matinee and our evening show.
On a personal note, it is such a pleasure--and in truth, an honor--to spend time with you as members of one of Houston's oldest continually operating performing-arts organizations. Whether we're learning and rehearsing our repertoire, enjoying each other at social events both planned and impromptu, or just chatting on breaks or throughout the week, our common bond of loving to perform beautiful music for the public shines with every note we sing and every step we dance. Aren't we fortunate?!
Sharing the joy,
Mark & Van
HSC Community Partnerships
We’re continuing our first community partnership of the season with Oak Forest Foster Closet! 💜
We’re collecting ethnic hair care products to help make sure the children and young adults served by OFFC have access to products made for their hair. That includes bonnets, durags, satin pillowcases, detangling brushes, combs, hair products, and more.
You can shop directly from our Amazon Wishlist using the QR code on the flyer or by following this link, or bring donations to rehearsal beginning Monday! I’m still adding items to the wishlist, so you may see new products pop up as we go.
This is something small we can do that can make a very real difference for kids in foster care, and I’d love for HSC to show up for them. ❤️
If you’d like to learn more about Oak Forest Foster Closet or volunteer with them, visit OakForestFosterCloset.org. They offer volunteer opportunities, including helping at the closet, and it’s another great way to support the work they’re doing for foster families in our community.
