The next Houston Show Choir auditions will start in January 2020.
We’re looking for singers who enjoy performing pop, rock, disco, jazz, and show tunes and who want to spread the fun of show choir music throughout the Greater Houston area.
Houston Show Choir offers four performance groups: three mixed show choirs (Dynamic Voices, Vocal Impact, and Vox Evolution), and one ensemble for women (Heart & Soul). Singers who make an audition appointment will be asked for their preference. However, the Artistic Director will offer places according to where she thinks singers will best fit, which may not be their first choice. There is a description of the four choirs at the end of this page.

In addition to producing 1-3 ticketed shows per season, Houston Show Choir is also hired to perform at private and public events. The group makes regular appearances at major public events such as holiday lighting ceremonies and art festivals.
Membership fees per season (two seasons per year) are $50 for Dynamic Voices and $75 for the other three choirs. Dynamic Voices singers will be given a Houston Show Choir shirt and expected to provide other pieces of the outfit themselves (primarily black dress pants or jeans). Singers in Vocal Impact, Heart & Soul, and Vox Evolution will purchase a full costume from Houston Show Choir (to be used for several years) at a cost of $160. Payment plans can be arranged.
More about the Four Houston Show Choir Ensembles
This new choir is planned, and will proceed once there are sufficient selected singers to fill the ensemble. Dynamic Voices is a fun group that offers daytime performances with a strong social and community focus, and casual costuming. Members of this choir will do a vocal audition for the artistic director, and repertoire and choreography for this ensemble will be chosen to fit the ability of the singers. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 10:00-11:30am at Grace Community Church, 1021 Campbell Rd, 77055. Performances will be at the same time slot but in different locations around the Houston area. This choir may also participate in the regular end-of-season performances with the other Houston Show Choir ensembles.
This auditioned, community-based choir is a theatrical ensemble with a high level of vocal ability and musicianship, and moderate to advanced level of choreographed movement. Some of Vocal Impact’s performances are community and goodwill events, including festivals, retirement communities, veteran’s facilities, and respite centers. The singers wear bright, sparkly costumes and perform predominantly without a conductor. In addition to the ensemble pieces, singers also have the opportunity to perform solos. The sense of community within the ensemble is palpable from the audience, which is why Vocal Impact brings so much energy and joy to every performance.
Heart & Soul
This auditioned ladies-only choir has gained a reputation for performance excellence in the Houston corporate scene. The choir performs within the SSAA range, with a professional level of choreography and vocal ability, enhanced by sparkly costumes. Heart & Soul performs at corporate dinners, balls, and functions, and has accompanied professional musicians onstage in addition to producing their own headline acts. Many of the singers perform solo during the season or step forward to do small group dance breaks to add an extra element to the performances.
Both men and women audition for this high energy choir, which produces all-singing and all-dancing dynamic shows that are highly sought after in the corporate arena. With glitzy outfits, this group provides thrilling professional-level shows. Vox Evolution has a rich full-choir sound featuring all male and female vocal ranges, along with energetic choreography, to provide a theatrical experience for the audience. All singers in this vibrant group can also perform as soloists and the group as a whole will add a personalized touch of pizzazz to any function or event. Customized performances and flash mobs are just two of their specialties!
