Volunteer Needs

Help at Shows

Houston Show Choir main shows in June and December require a significant “Front of House” team to ensure that our audiences are happy and the events run smoothly. If you think you could help us in this area, please join our email list (look for the button to your right) and check the “Volunteer Interest” option. Or if you are already on our email list, please update your profile to reflect your interest in volunteering. Several weeks before the show we’ll start contacting people to get the team in place. These are the sorts of tasks involved:

Moving furniture or stage items
Installing signs and banners
Program preparation (folding, inserts) and distribution
Fundraising sales
Ushering, guiding groups to assigned seating
Reception set-up, serving, clean-up
Videographer assistance (translate written instructions to hand signals)
Photography
Ticket table assistance

Advisory Council

We thank our volunteer Advisory Council members who support Houston Show Choir with ideas, leadership and expertise. This group provides direction to the choir in the areas of finances, operations, marketing, and program development. Advisory Council members are expected to attend two meetings per year and to support the choir through active participation and advocacy for the group.
